As a follow up to the Gossip Girls story on Amy Winehouse’s crack smoking video released earlier this week, Scotland Yard authorities have begun an investigation into the matter.
The “Rehab” singer was caught in some grainy footage inhaling fumes from a pipe just hours before she attended her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil’s court hearing.
And upon reviewing the footage, police are trying to decided whether or not any charges should be filed against the Grammy-nominee. And neither Amy’s spokesperson, nor the police are giving an official statement as of yet.
Winehouse’s dad, Mitch, who has been vocal about her problems in the past, said he was glad the footage was released. He told press, “Your video of Amy taking drugs may well be the best thing that has ever happened to her.”
And in an official statement, her label, Universal Records, said, “We are deeply disappointed and upset by these latest revelations and are doing everything we can to offer Amy our full support in dealing with her problems.”
